• Tokyo Skytree 🫶🗾🇯🇵⛩️

Since its inauguration in 2012, the Tokyo Skytree has become a defining feature of Tokyo's skyline. While its observation decks offer breathtaking panoramic views, the iconic tower also provides a wide variety of activities for visitors to enjoy.

The Skytree has two main observation decks. At 350 meters, the Tembo Deck provides a stunning 360-degree view of the city and its surroundings. For an even more thrilling experience, you can go 100 meters higher to the Tembo Galleria, a glass-walled spiral ramp that makes you feel as though you're walking among the clouds. On a clear day, you might even be able to see the iconic peak of Mount Fuji in the distance.

At the base of the tower is Tokyo Solamachi, a large shopping complex with over 300 shops and restaurants. You can find everything from trendy fashion and unique Japanese goods to a wide range of dining options, including a food court, cafes, and high-end restaurants. If you'd like to dine with a view, there's also a cafe on the Tembo Deck and the Sky Restaurant 634 (Musashi) on the Tembo Deck, which serves Japanese-French fusion cuisine.

Beyond the tower itself, there are many other attractions within the Tokyo Skytree Town complex. You can explore the fascinating marine life at the Sumida Aquarium or gaze at the stars and planets at the Konica Minolta Planetarium "Tenku." The area also has unique spots like the Postal Museum Japan, which features a massive collection of stamps from all over the world.

Whether you're looking for an unforgettable view, a unique dining experience, or a fun day of shopping and entertainment, the Tokyo Skytree and its surrounding complex have something to offer everyone.

  • The popular Maneki Neko or "Lucky Cat," which you often see in restaurants and shops, has a legendary origin story that dates back to 17th-century Japan.

According to the legend, a feudal lord was sheltering under a tree during a storm when he noticed a cat raising its paw as if to wave him over. Curious, he followed the cat into a nearby temple. Moments later, lightning struck the very tree he had been standing under.

The cat's simple gesture saved his life, and from that day forward, the beckoning cat became a symbol of luck and protection.

  • Researchers hope they may have solved the “tunnel boom” problem as they prepare to roll out China’s latest prototype magnetic levitation train.

The newest version of the maglev train is capable of travelling at 600km/h (about 370mph). However, the train’s engineers have wrestled with the problem of the shock waves which occur as the train exits the mouth of a tunnel.

  • Autophagy, meaning "self-eating," is a natural cellular process in which the body recycles damaged components and proteins, particularly during fasting or periods of low nutrient intake. This biological cleanup mechanism plays a key role in maintaining cellular health by breaking down and removing dysfunctional parts before they accumulate and cause harm. Japanese scientist Yoshinori Ohsumi was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2016 for his groundbreaking work in discovering the genes behind this essential process.

Beyond its cellular housekeeping role, autophagy has been linked to longevity and disease prevention. Studies suggest that activating autophagy through intermittent fasting or caloric restriction may reduce the risk of chronic diseases like cancer, type 2 diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s. As scientists continue to explore this powerful process, autophagy is emerging as a cornerstone of preventive health strategies and age-related disease research.

  • Level Up Your Blender Skills for Second Life: Two Add-ons You Need to Know About

At Wiply, we're not just a platform; we're a community. We believe in helping our creators grow and succeed, and that means sharing the tools and knowledge that can elevate your designs. If you're a Second Life designer using Blender, you know that great UV mapping is the secret to perfect textures. So, we've found two fantastic add-ons that can make your life a whole lot easier.

    1. UV Squares: For a Clean, Distortion-Free Grid

Have you ever spent ages manually adjusting your UVs to get a perfectly straight grid, only to have your texture look stretched or warped? UV Squares is here to solve that problem. This simple but powerful add-on takes any selection of faces and instantly turns them into a uniform square grid.

Why this is a game-changer for SL designers:

Fixes Bad UVs in a Click: It automatically corrects distorted UVs, ensuring your textures are applied evenly and without unsightly stretching.

Saves Hours of Tedious Work: Stop wrestling with vertices. This tool automates a time-consuming part of the UV process, so you can focus on the fun part—creating!

Perfect for Clothes and Flat Surfaces: If you’re making clothing, rugs, or any object where a perfectly straight texture is a must, this tool is your best friend.

    2. Mio3 UV: The Ultimate UV Toolkit

If UV Squares is the scalpel, Mio3 UV is the entire surgical kit. This comprehensive add-on is a treasure trove of tools designed to streamline and improve every step of your UV unwrapping workflow.

    Why Mio3 UV is a must-have:

Advanced Unwrapping & Alignment: It includes functions to straighten edge loops, normalize UV sizes, and perfectly align your islands. No more manually nudging every single vertex.

Symmetry Made Simple: Easily symmetrize your UVs for character models or anything that requires perfect left/right symmetry.

Better Texture Preview: The add-on includes a built-in checkered map and padding guidelines, helping you visualize your textures and avoid issues like texture bleed before you even leave Blender.

  • 🔊 Ever wondered how sound actually travels?

    It’s not just a "wave"—it’s a pulsating bubble of energy! 🌐

This mind-blowing graphic breaks it down: sound expands spherically as compressions and rarefactions, moving at 761 mph at sea level (but slows to 684 mph at Everest’s peak!).

    The math? A simple sine wave equation captures its rhythm: x(t) = A sin(2πt/T + φ). 🤯

From sonic events to wavelengths, sound is pure physics magic!

What’s the loudest sound you’ve ever heard?
Drop it in the comments, and let’s see how many sound enthusiasts are out there! 🔉
