The ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia, often credited as the world’s first advanced civilization, left behind clay tablets that continue to baffle modern scholars. Among these are intricate celestial diagrams some over 6,000 years old that depict a heliocentric solar system, showing planets like Jupiter, Saturn, and even distant Neptune orbiting the sun. This level of astronomical precision predates modern discoveries by millennia and challenges the belief that such knowledge was beyond ancient capability. What makes these tablets even more intriguing are the recurring images of towering beings known as the Anunnaki, which translates to “those who from heaven to Earth came.” These figures are often shown interacting with mysterious double-helix shapes forms that strongly resemble the structure of DNA, a concept only understood by modern science in the 20th century. Such symbolism has led many to question whether the Sumerians possessed advanced biological knowledge or perhaps encountered it through unknown means.
